Direct To Garment
Direct to Garment printing is one of the newest apparel decorating technologies. It is an inkjet process that prints full color plus white directly onto the shirt. It allows for very fine detail and photographic images while keeping a very soft feel on the shirt. Also because it is a digital printing process we can print as little as one single shirt.
Ideal Uses
Full color prints
Low quantity orders
Shirts with varying graphics
Restrictions
Shirts must have a high cotton content
Best to stick to standard print locations
Screen Printing
Screen Printing is the most traditional type of apparel printing. Ink is pushed through a screen and onto the shirt. One screen is used for each color in the print which results in additional cost for each additional color in the design
Ideal Uses
Spot color prints
1-4 color prints
Specialty ink colors
High quantities
Restrictions
Photographic prints
Very fine lines
Varying graphics
Embroidery
Embroidery is a generally used higher end apparel such as polos, jackets, and hats but can be used on a wide variety of items. We have specialty equipment to embroidery on some of the toughest items such as thick items, pockets, and bags. Our equipment can also handle up to 16 different color threads at once as well as the ability to embroider multiple designs at the same time.
Ideal Uses
Any item where you want the high end look of embroidery
Hard to print items
Restrictions
Very fine detail
Thin, loose woven fabrics
Heat Seal
Heat seal is usually the go to process for difficult to print apparel. It works with almost any type of fabric and almost any location. It can be printed in full color or we can use special effect heat seal material such as glitter sparkle.
Ideal Uses
Hard to print on items
Specialty locations
Special effects
Restrictions
Heat sensitive fabrics
Sublimation
Sublimation is a bit of a specialty process with limited uses. It is full color but there is no white ink. Instead of the ink sitting on the fabric it actually changes the color of the fabric which means if feels just like unprinted fabric. The limitation is that it only works on light colored polyester fabrics. This is idea for all the moisture wicking performance fabrics that have become popular.
Ideal Uses
Light color polyester
Full color prints
Performance fabrics
Restrictions
No white ink
Must be polyester fabric
Light color fabrics only
